She took on a second job, but her boyfriend won’t babysit.

“My boyfriend and I live together and I have a two year old daughter from a previous relationship. Money is tight and we have talked about one of us getting a second job for two months to catch up and build a savings for emergencies. Well, I found a second job and asked if he would help watch my daughter in the evenings until she goes to bed, which is about two hours of babysitting time. His response was, “I don’t want to watch her alone.”

“My parents are pretty rude to my husband. They are typical Americans, impressed with the superficial and defining things like income, titles, and possessions. Unfortunately (or fortunately), I’m completely different. I’ve done a lot of travelling and have lived abroad for 6 years in my adult life (after college). I met my husband abroad, and we got engaged, then married. I’m sure that has something to do with it.”

Ex-boyfriend wants to be “friends”, but is there more to it?

“My ex-boyfriend and I have been broken up for a few months now and after our first initial break up, he contacted me 2 months later in Feburary wanting to talk and said that he was thinking about getting back together. Then I discovered that he was with another girl, which sparked another huge fight, so I essentially cut him out of my life and we haven’t spoken since the beginning of April.”
